Goals: Improve the capacity of Cambodian staff members to work with aid recipients in Cambodia and with Global Children staff in the US. Provide tools for the Cambodian staff to advance their skills in general.
Global Children, based in New York, is using GCF funds to purchase a computer, a printer, and a scanner for use by Cambodian staff in Phnom Penh, who previously operated with borrowed equipment and Internet cafés for access. They are working with many projects in Cambodia including a cultural education program at an orphanage, a health and environment improvement program for urban squatter communities, and a professional education and scholarship program. The projects are currently reaching about 200 children and 1000 families. The new equipment is already being used to research an immunization project.
