Global Citizenship and Youth Philanthropy Program
Funding Amount: $110,000

Using information and communications technologies, GCYP focuses at the classroom level on the education and empowerment of youth and enables them to become global citizens and leaders, participate responsibly in civic activities, and acquire the knowledge, skills, and values that support cross-cultural understanding and the democratic process. The pilot phase of GCYP has been implemented in 25 schools in the United States, 2 internet-connected schools in Kabul, Afghanistan, and 24 RI-SOL supported internet-connected schools across Tajikistan.

Initial program partners are the National Geographic Society and UCLA’s International Institute.
