GCF Small Tech Grants Competition

The Global Catalyst Foundation established an annual small grants competition for NGOs working with grassroots groups in developing countries. The Small Tech Grants Competition provides up to $5,000 for projects engaged in the effective application of information and communications technologies for education and economic development purposes.

Since 2001, the competition has attracted other funders and awarded over $130,000 for a wide variety of ICT applications, including computer equipment, internet connectivity, teacher training, and educational materials. Over 140 proposals have been submitted to the competition, and funding has made its way to groups working in 26 developing countries.
